Specialist Teachers
Stretching our Curriculum!
At Chelsea Primary School, we are proud to offer three specialist learning areas designed to enrich our curriculum and provide every child with diverse and meaningful learning experiences.
Digitech
Our Digitech programme inspires students to become confident, creative, and capable digital learners. Through hands-on experiences in coding, robotics, computational thinking, digital design, and emerging technologies, tamariki develop the skills to innovate, solve problems, and collaborate in an increasingly digital world. The programme encourages curiosity, creativity, and responsible digital citizenship, preparing students to be future-ready learners who can confidently navigate and shape the world around them.
Enviroschools
Our Enviroschools programme empowers students to become kaitiaki (guardians) of the environment. Tamariki engage in hands-on learning about sustainability, environmental science, and ecological responsibility, including maintaining our school vegetable gardens. This programme nurtures an understanding of how their actions contribute to a sustainable future for Aotearoa and the world.
Health and Physical Education
Through Health and Physical Education, students build physical fitness, teamwork, and resilience while embracing the Mitey Mental Health Programme. This programme equips tamariki with essential skills for emotional wellbeing, self-awareness, and respectful relationships, ensuring a holistic approach to their overall health and development.
Each term, every child will participate in all three specialist areas. These sessions are an essential part of our commitment to growing the Chelsea DNA and Values, providing opportunities for students to develop creativity, innovation, environmental responsibility, wellbeing, and the skills needed to thrive as confident learners and global citizens.
